Art Route 67

Art Route 67 represents the 67 years Nelson Mandela gave of his life to democracy. We start our art excursion at the historical Campanile and follow the art exhibits up Jetty Street to the city center. After discussing the various art pieces and architecture we continue up the stairs to the Donkin Reserve to view the various art forms on display there.

A 3-hour tour of our friendly City Port Elizabeth which is steeped in rich history from the KhoiSan, Dutch, french, AmaXhosa to the British Settlers who all formed the early history of the town and her surrounding area. We visit the South End Apartheid Museum, Central Town, the Donkin Reserve, Fort Frederick, No 7 Castle Hill Museum, Bird Street Park Drive with the beautiful old merchant homes of the 1800’s, Horse Memorial and lots more.

Port Elizabeth Historical City Tour and Marine Life

This City Tour is a short but insightful experience of the history of Port Elizabeth.  You will learn about the history of the Khoi San, Dutch, French and British Settlers to the AmaXhosa who all formed the early history of this town. Visit Central town, the Donkin Reserve, Fort Frederick,  Bird Street Park Drive with the beautiful old merchant homes of the 1800’s and lots more. Afterwards we travel to Cape Recife Nature Reserve to visit the SANCCOB, a sanctuary for the endangered African Penguins and other sea-life.

Grahamstown Settler Tour

Travel to the ‘City of Saints’ so called after the more than 40 places of worship. Visit the Grahamstown Monument, the old Fort, the old Gaol and different museums as well as the only Camera Obscura in the Southern Hemisphere. Travel to Bathurst for lunch. Visit the Pig and Whistle Hotel built in 1835 by the settlers. Travel through Port Alfred and the beautiful marina, Alexandria, the centre of the Chicory Production and arrive back in Port Elizabeth in the late afternoon.
