Travel to the yacht basin in the harbour to board your boat. The whale season begins in June when we see humpback whales moving along the coast. Humpback whales can be seen in Algoa Bay between June and early January, reaching peaks in July/August and again in November/December. Southern right whales can be seen from July to October. Southern right whales are usually seen very close inshore and often nearby to the harbour.

Indo-pacific bottlenose dolphins are the most frequently observed dolphins in the bay and can be spotted all year round. These playful dolphins are mostly found in shallow waters either near the beaches or around St Croix Island, and tend to come right up to the boat and ride along in the bow waves. Common dolphins are also a spectacular sight often spotted from January to June. Have the opportunity of spotting white-breasted cormorants, Cape cormorants, Bryde’s whales, Minke whales, Cape fur seals, various species of sharks, Cape gannets and various species of pelagic birds including terns, petrels, skuas, shearwaters and albatrosses, baitfish which move past the bay.

Leaving the harbour we travel around the bay, hugging the coast and stop for a lunch before we embark on our game drive in the open vehicle at the Kragga Kamma game reserve.  This park is home to the Rhino (and baby), Lions, Cape Buffalo, Cheetah, Zebra, Wildebeest and a variety of antelope.  On arrival at the game reserve you have the option of a cheetah interaction as an optional extra before you embark on your game drive in a open Land Rover which departs at 10h00.   Your guide will accompany you on the game drive and will translate for you.  The ranger will explain all about the animals and you will be able to get up close to them for super photos so bring your cameras along.
